DUT25 – Rollout

We do a lot of shows for Dream Teams, self-managed student teams that push innovation by designing and developing an iteration of a groundbreaking product with a new team of students each year. This ranges from a solar powered boat to an exoskeleton.

Generally, each team has a design presentation, where they reveal the goals and outlines of their concept, and a design reveal, where the final product is presented and demonstrated. Usually, these events are in the Auditorium on campus, but the Formula Student team demonstrates their electric vehicle on the Market in the city centre of Delft.

To livestream this event, we’re presented with a few unique challenges, ranging from the availability of power and an internet connection to weather-proofing our equipment. In close contact with the student team, we discuss possibilities for creative shots, graphics and other show elements.

Blended Learning Animations – Who Is the Engineer of the Future?

How do students discover who they want to become? At TU Delft, the Mechanical Engineering faculty paired with the New Media Centre’s Graphics team to address that question through animated storytelling. By developing eight distinct “Engineer of the Future” personas—each with its own narrative, style, and personality—students could see relatable career paths. Hand-drawn illustrations and concise two-minute videos translated complex concepts into engaging scripts, creating a compelling blended learning experience that inspires and informs.

Teacher – Classroom Simulator using AI

In collaboration with Hogeschool Fontys, TU Delft, and XR Zone, we developed an AI-driven Teacher Classroom Simulator for didactics courses. The project explores how VR can enhance teacher training by offering immersive classroom experiences with real-time feedback. Virtual students simulate authentic behaviour, helping educators refine their skills. By prioritising practical applications, the platform aims to make innovative, immersive education accessible and adaptable to diverse teaching contexts.

The Safety Science Wall: A Story Told in Panels

The Safety Science Wall transforms a TPM corridor into a visual story of safety science, created by Cok Francken, graphic designer from TU Delft’s NMC. Six large panels trace the field’s evolution using restored images, infographics, and archival posters, showcasing how design and research can turn complex history into an engaging, accessible narrative.
